The UK
National Lottery's Big Lottery Fund has awarded a £400,000 grant to the
Community Foundation for Northern Ireland’s Acorn Fund.
The money
will be used to fund community arts and culture projects and to support
projects for young people and marginalized groups, such as the homeless and
people with learning disabilities.
"This
grant to the Community Foundation will help to support people and communities
across County Londonderry to build a legacy to the first UK City of
Culture," Frank Hewitt (Big Lottery Fund Northern Ireland) said. "We
are looking forward to hearing how this grant will benefit local people to play
their part in building the legacy."
