Better Late than Never for Ontario Lotto Winner

A Canadian who won a $50 million Lotto Max prize last November will finally pick up her winnings later today.

Kathryn Jones from Hamilton, Ontario, was totally unaware she had won the Jackpot prize in the November 30, draw. She had even lost her winning ticket; so the fact that she will soon be united with her prize says a lot about the diligence of Ontario Lottery officials.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation knew where the ticket was bought and the date and time of the purchase. They also knew it was the only $16 ticket sold at the Shoppers Drug Mart, Cambridge, on that particular day. Most importantly, they knew it was bought with a credit card, and that is how they finally tracked down their missing winner.
